Kimchi festival is held every year in Gwangju. It focuses on the Honam (Jeolla-do) Province food culture and kimchi. The main events at Kimchi Festival are kimchi exhibition, kimchi-making contest, traditional folk games

and performances, samulnori (the Korean traditional percussion quartet), Gwangsan Udo nongak (farmers folk music performance), and kimchi tasting. The Gwangju Kimchi Festival also include a kimchi workshop (to learn how to make kimchi). During this festival, you will be able to taste many varieties of freshly made kimchi.
